1st Birthday Fun {keeping it simple}

Hello…I’m back with another birthday to share to share with you all!  My baby celebrated his 1st birthday last week.  Where did the time go?!  For months, I planned to have a Very Hungry Caterpillar themed party. Then I realized how hard it is to plan for two parties in a week and decided to keep it simple this year. There’s always next year…Simple can be adorable, though!  Just check out these cute ideas:

Birthday Mantle…A new tradition!  As a mom, it is very important to establish traditions that my children look forward to from year to year.  After decorating the mantle for my 3 year old this summer and now my 1 year old, I have decided this would be a fun tradition.  I enjoy creating them and the boys LOVE that the mantle is all about them!

Simple tablescape created from a store bought dangling sign, some ribbon curls, pom poms and a vase full of balloons. So stimulating! He loved the pom poms {not going to lie- All the boys were playing with them and I had a really hard time keeping them on the table}!

I tied a giant 1st birthday balloon on his chair…Huge hit!  He still loves it and points saying “ba…ba..” as though it’s a ball.

Simple photo collage showing pictures from his 1st year…

I blew up some balloons for the boys to play with. There was no agenda…just simple family. food. fun. Sometimes it’s nice to have evenings like that. The boys provided our entertainment!

We ate Soup {Steak soup & Potato soup}, Hot Ham Sandwiches, veggies & dip, Cake Cornbread and Angelfood cake with whipped cream and berries…Don’t worry I’ll be sharing recipes soon.  They are all delish!

Most importantly, this little boy had a special evening…Just. For. Him!

Happy 1st Birthday!

What special birthday traditions do you celebrate in your homes?
