Halloween Treats

Hello Friends!

Today I am sharing with you a couple super easy last minute Halloween treat ideas.  I happen to be making these for my son’s Preschool Halloween party in the morning.

Nutter Butter Ghosts

Nutter Butter cookies

Almond bark (8 cubes) or white chocolate chips

Mini chocolate chips

Vegetable oil

How to:

Melt white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl with a little vegetable oil.

Dip Nutter Butters in white chocolate and lay on a cooling rack set on top of wax paper to allow excess chocolate coating to drip off rather than pooling around cookie.  I scraped the back side of the cookie too.

Quickly press chocolate chips into ghost to make your desired face.  It actually took mine a while to set, so you have some time here.

I had some chocolate left over, so I made a few chocolate dipped pretzel treats.  My boys will love these as their after dinner treat!

YUM!  Hope these Spooky little treats make it to school!

Note: This would not be suitable for a nut-free school.

Mud Pies

I made these yummy little cups over the weekend and they were a BIG hit!  This recipe is usually called “Dirt Cake,” but we decided they were more like little mud pies.  I changed up the recipe a bit and the result was delicious!  I even put the leftover pudding mixture in the freezer…It’s not going to last long.  🙂

1 package of Chocolate Sandwich Cookies
1 (8 oz.) package of Cream Cheese
1/2 C. Butter, softened
1 C. Powdered Sugar
3 C. Milk
1 (12 oz.) tub of Whip Cream (I used chocolate)
2 (3 ½ oz.) packages of Instant Pudding, chocolate or vanilla (I used chocolate fudge)
2 tsp. Vanilla

How to:

Crush all the Cookies and set aside.

Mix together the butter, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Set aside.

Mix together the pudding mix and the milk.  Then fold the cream cheese mixture into the pudding mixture.  Add the whip topping to the mixture.

Layer the crushed cookies, and the pudding mixture starting with the cookies. (Cookies/Pudding/Cookies until you have the desired layers)

*You can add gummy worms to the top layer of Cookies to make it fun for kids.
